Never Forget

Remember...
Every year around this time my heart gets heavy.  Not that I am one for living in the past, but there are just some things that never go away.  Some scars that are too deep.  The lives of everyone in America changed that awful day eleven years ago forever.
As much as we might want to, we can't go back.  We can't undo the hurt or ever even begin to fill the loss of what happened that day.  What we can do though is remember...  We can remember that life is fragile and precious.  That at any given moment the ones we cherish can be taken from us in an instant.  We can remember to make each and every day count, to make memories and breathe it all in, because one day the ones we love will be gone.
One thing that makes my heart happy out of all the loss and sorrow that happened on that terrible day, is the way we all came together as Americans.  How as a Nation we all Stood as One.  As a New Yorker it was overwhelming to see first responders, elected officials, and every day people stepping in and stepping up, just diving in to help without pause.
It is very hard to lose the ones we love, but love never ends, and love never forgets.  I believe the ones we love are never really far away, they live on in each and every one of us.  We carry them with us in our daily lives until we meet them again in heaven.
So in honor of al those who lost their lives that awful day eleven years ago, and to the families who lost loved ones... I want to dedicate my song "I Carry You With Me".
"and in my heart you'll always beI Carry You with Me"

9/11 Memorial Ceremony... Gone but Not Forgotten

"...suffering produces perseverance; perseverance produces character and character produces hope." - Rom. 5:3-4
It is hard to believe it has been ten years since that awful day.  Faithful readers of my blog know that I'm Greek and it is not often that I find myself speechless on any given topic. Really, I can ramble on over a 1,000 words about a new pair of sneakers or about the newest brand of healthy protein bar I just found.  However as many others I'm sure, I find that when it comes to this horrible day in our history, I am left with nothing but an emptiness.  A deep sadness that can not, nor do I ever think will be filled.
Not only as a New Yorker, but as an American I morn for the innocent lost that tragic day.  It is very hard to loose the ones we love.  The heart never forgets.  So my wish is simple, to dedicate my song that deals with grief and loss to anyone who lost a loved one that day.  Also to anyone who just feels that void and sadness for so many souls taken so soon.  I hope it brings peace and serenity to hurting hearts.
Blessings, Love & Music,
